Fire & Desire...

Dating is characterized by getting excited when the phone rings and just thinking it is your "Bae". Oh, the irony of waiting for that text message for a second date. As your relationship matures and things get more serious, you may not feel the same rush but the excitement remains. Marriage is different but in similar ways. Living with someone with a commitment to spend the rest of your lives together creates a special kind of bond. Knowing that you can trust your spouse to cherish and hold dear your most inner thoughts and dreams is a different kind of feeling but a lot like when that phone rings in a new love. Married life is not easy. It takes time to build trust and understanding. It takes effort to merge cultures and ideas.  It takes

compromise to make joint decisions.  Whether your fights are about money, kids, or dirty socks on the floor, you are going to have them.  You are going to have great days and passionate days. You are going to have rainy days and sunny days. Despite all of the possibilities of what could happen, you will learn that each day is a new day.  Believing in your love and knowing that you can overcome any obstacle do not require any special training. It only requires the commitment to love unconditionally, the respect to never intentionally cause harm to each other, and the faith that you can make it through the tough times and emerge even stronger.
