nothing in common with me". Now, my son is 17 years old and she remains one of my best friends and prayer partners!
Sometimes things are not what they seem... This is the Law of Life. We must embrace it! There are so many missed opportunities or tough failures, because we fail to look deeper into what we observe on the surface. If you are a person that will know whether you are going to like someone within the first few seconds you meet them, then you are selling yourself short. There are amazing people and situations that you may fail to have in your life just because the grill cheese sandwich was not chocolate covered strawberries. In my life, I have found that every person I meet is owed at least one of these three things:

One consistency throughout my life is my need/determination to pray. I consider myself a mature Christian, but I am not perfect. When tough times come my way, I tend to feel a little offbalance. Throughout many sleepless nights, I prayed for understanding. Here is what was revealed to me.
Faith is believing what you cannot see. In my search for understanding, I found that I was to pray for God to reveal the next step of my journey, not for Him to show me the "why". You see, in all of my searching for answers to resolve my pain, I failed to remember that God had already written this path into my life. Everything that happens is leading me closer to understanding what His True Plan is for my life. Faith, in fact, is knowing that God is with you every step of the way. He is in every joy and every tear. He surrounds you like the wind. He is the air that flows in and out. He is my Creator, the fuel of my Strength. Thus, I will always look to the hills and pray. My mom showed me that a song is a prayer that flows out of the soul. Uplifting! I Am Not A StatisticRecently, in the news, it was boasted that Black Unemployment was at an all-time low. I'm not sure why we deserve such additional recognition. Most blacks I know [including myself] have been employed since they were teenagers. Logically speaking, if the overall unemployment rate is the lowest it has ever been then shouldn't other ethnic categories be representative of that too? One cannot undermine the fact that we work hard - I have always worked hard. My Family Focus, My Mission, My ValuesThroughout my life, I have valued three important things:
